There are times in our life where we can get burdened down by the circumstances around us or even the choices that we have made that leave us thinking “It is too late”. But God has given each one of us a measure of time here on the earth and God isn’t so concerned about what we have done as much as it is with where will we end up, what are we going to do with the understanding we get and are we going to get back up when we fall. Life is too short and yet is filled with such wonderful potential from the first day to the last. This idea of “It’s too late” comes from a mindset that we have to be perfect and do things perfect the first time or I am in way too deep. God doesn’t think that you have to be perfect. Only He is perfect and it is only through His grace, strength and ability that He can make us perfect. Ezekiel 18:26 says, “When a righteous manturns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the iniquity which he has done that he dies”, but Ezekiel 18:21 says "But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. We see then that with God it is not about all that we have done, but rather what did we turn from and where did we turn to. God is a God of life, healing and restoration. Everything that we get discouraged by is something that the devil has caused us to believe a lie. “Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it more abundantly”. I echo what the Apostle James said. “Count it all joy my brethren when you fall into various trials…” In order to ‘count it all joy’, it is critical that we are brethren, meaning that we have become a devoted disciple and follower of Christ Jesus. It is only in Him that we have the ability to live in joy but also to have the authority to claim back what the enemy has stolen and to receive back even more than what was stolen. Proverbs 6:30-31 says, “People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house.” God is a restorer if we will trust Him. Nothing is too big or way too deep that God can not restore. It is not too late!! It’s not too late to receive forgiveness from God ( remember the thief that was hanging next to Jesus; he was already condemned and was dyeing); it’s not too late to have your own child ( remember Abraham & Sarah; she was 80 years old, but maybe you are 40 and have been told that you could never have children); it’s not too late in seeing a friendship or marriage restored; it’s not too late to instill truth in your children, no matter their age, and leave a godly legacy; it’s not too late to start that new business venture; it’s not too late to fulfill your destiny; It’s not too late to leave an abusive relationship and restore your life and dignity; It’s not too late and you’re not too deeply involved in something that you can not get out. It may cost you something, but it is better to turn away from that which burdens you and turn to Jesus and to do righteousness and in so doing save your soul than to let fear destroy you. It is not too late to turn a life threatening disease around.
Will you trust Jesus to make your life into something beautiful, something that He intended from the beginning of creation. He knew you and saw your future and destiny when He laid the foundations of the earth. He had a lot of things on His mind at that time and yet He took the time to know you and consider your greatness. It is time for you to know Him and consider His greatness and the plans and purpose that He has for you. He loves you with an evelasting, jealous, unconditional, never-failing love. Learn to live life! Learn to love life! It is the gift He gave us. Fall into His arms of love, grace and salvation. Learn to ‘count it all joy’. Instead of getting discouraged when things are falling apart or the enemy is trying to steal from you, get excited and start laughing knowing that, when we walk in Jesus, that there is increase on the way. Remember, the thief not only needs to give back what was stolen, but he needs to restore back a multiplied measure.
Do you know Jesus? He says ‘Call unto me and I will answer’. Life and salvation are in Him alone. There is no other way to the Father ( Heaven) except through Jesus. He is the only way, the only truth and the only life. Believe in Him and what He has already done for you on the cross and through His resurrection. He has forgiven you already. Will you receive it? He has been made alive already so you can live. Will you embrace it?
